Export Merchandising calendar and TNA plan or Critical path method are the pre-production planning methods. The Export Merchandising calendar starts from sourcing the yarns to shipment of the goods. This calendar shows that the required number of days to complete the activity. The days required to complete the activity is calculated by the in-charge of concern department.

Export Merchandising calendar:
After receiving the order sheet from the buyer, the merchandiser has to do a master plan or pre-plan for the order process. EMC helps in the estimation of the total time required for the order to execute the order in time. The merchandisers have to target the shipment date before going for the master plan. The target date should be 7 to 10 days before the shipment date mentioned in the order sheet.

Critical path method or TNA plan:
The process of starting and completion dates for all critical events which are necessary to complete the order is called the critical path method or TNA plan. CPM or TNA is the key to a successful export merchandising calendar. It is the act of giving time schedules to the preplan or master plan.
TNA plan table consists of two columns “planned date” and “extended date”. The planned date column will explain the planned date of completion of the activity and the extended date column will explain the actual time taken to completion of the activity.
